Therapy for the Inland Empire

Couples, individual, family and addiction work with Daniel A. Linder, MFT — Temecula, Murrieta, Riverside and the surrounding area.

In short: Daniel A. Linder, MFT is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License LMFT 17435) with more than forty years of experience. He practices in Fallbrook, minutes from Temecula and Murrieta, and works throughout the Inland Empire in person or by Zoom. Sessions run 45 minutes: $300 individual, $350 couples and family, $350 addiction treatment, $400 intervention. The first 15-minute consultation is free.

Fallbrook sits just over the county line from Temecula and Murrieta. For most of southwest Riverside County this is one of the closest options for specialized relational and addiction work, and in-person sessions are genuinely practical rather than a long haul.

That proximity matters because the Inland Empire is chronically underserved for this kind of care. There is general counseling, and there is acute treatment. There is much less in between — long-horizon work on a marriage, a family system, or the relational structure underneath an addiction.

The commute tax on families here

A large share of households in this area commute to San Diego or Orange County for work. That is two to three hours of a day gone before anything else happens, and it is quietly corrosive to a marriage. Partners pass each other. Parents miss the window with their kids. Nobody is doing anything wrong, and the distance grows anyway.

Adding a long drive to a therapist on top of that is often what ends therapy before it starts. Being close by — or meeting over Zoom without any drive at all — is a practical part of whether the work actually continues past week six.

Who this is for

  • Couples in Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Riverside or Corona who have drifted without a clear rupture
  • Commuter households where the relationship has quietly become logistics
  • Families organized around a member’s addiction or mental health struggle
  • People weighing an intervention and unsure how to begin
  • Individuals working on the relationship with their own Self

The approach

The work is inside-out: you transform your relationships by transforming the relationship with your Self. The method is conversational — creating a space safe enough for the feelings and issues that have long been avoided, and then practicing the skills of connection rather than discussing them in the abstract.

A theme runs through it: differences are not the enemy of intimacy. They are the passageway to it. For addiction, the frame is The Relationship Model of Addiction™ — addiction as a relationship with a means of relief rather than a disease.
